NOAH WHINSTON, LA VALIANT FINALISTS FOR 2018 TEMPEST ESPORTS BUSINESS AWARDS
Updated: Jul 31, 2019
The Tempest Esports Business Awards announced today Immortals CEO Noah Whinston and the Los Angeles Valiant as finalists in the categories of Esports Executive of the Year and Esports Team of the Year, respectively.
In its inaugural year, the Tempest Awards recognize the esports industry’s most innovative companies and executives in North America. Esports industry judges compiled the nominations based on the submission’s originality and creativity, execution and concept, tactics, design and presentation, and overall impact.
“We are truly grateful the hard work put in by Noah and our staff has not gone unnoticed by the esports industry. The nominations encapsulate a year’s worth of long hours, sleepless nights, and endless dedication to working towards the vision Noah set forth when he founded the company years ago,” said Ari Segal, President & COO of Immortals LLC.
In 2018, Whinston, 23, oversaw the largest period of growth in Immortals history. The organization launched two brands, the Los Angeles Valiant and MIBR, expanded into seven competitive titles, and established the organization in Brazil. Through Whinston’s leadership, the organization strived not only for competitive excellence but to be the most inclusive global esports organization.
The Los Angeles Valiant is one of twelve franchises participating in the inaugural season of Blizzard’s Overwatch League. From the onset, the LA Valiant were determined to differentiate themselves through competition and fan engagement. On stage, the Valiant became the first-ever Pacific Division Champions. Off the stage, the organization focused on creating an IRL inclusive community that was welcoming to all fans through the ‘Be Valiant’ events series and additional charitable endeavors.
Award winners will be announced at the Tempest Awards gala on October 2 in Las Vegas. For additional information, visit www.esportsbizsummit.com/awards.
